Hi! I'm Josie. As a lifelong food, fitness and finance enthusiast, I love learning and am passionate about helping people on their journey to becoming their best self.
My love of food dates back as far as I can remember. Growing up, my earliest memories are spending countless hours in the kitchen with my Nonna, cooking and gathering our entire family together to share the delicious meals we had prepared. I’m so grateful for those hours spent together learning the traditions of our Italian heritage. Nothing came from a package – we made pasta, bread, and other baked goods. It was through these experiences I learned the importance of food to nourish and heal the body. These hours spent with loved ones also filled my soul.
When not in the kitchen, I was constantly on the move, gliding on the ice or exploring the world on two wheels. As a teen, I traded skates for running shoes to spend time with a friend in training, which quickly evolved into another passion. I found a mental peace and catharsis in the repetitive sound of my feet hitting the pavement, and I was soon running 70 miles a week.
In my 20s, I decided I wanted to share my love for movement with others. I became a Fitness Instructor while also pursuing a business degree. I was blessed to also marry my best friend, and became a mom to two fantastic boys.
But, like many working moms, by my mid-30s my body began to feel the toll of keeping all the balls in the air. I was working toward attaining my professional accounting designation, juggling a full-time job, running a part time business, leading fitness classes, and keeping up with my children and their activities. I found myself chronically fatigued, getting sick more often, and was constantly stressed. My body was telling me to slow down. But, I was ignoring all the signs until one day, it decided it would no longer be ignored. Intense pain in my back that lasted for many months forced me to explore new ways to maintain fitness, and I swapped my running shoes for a yoga mat.
In addition to healing my body through yoga, I was able to learn the importance of mindfulness; and focusing on what’s important. Wanting to share the physical and mental health benefits of yoga with others, I became a yoga instructor. It took time and patience to return to my active lifestyle, and through yoga practice, I learned the importance of listening to my body, and keeping in touch with my soul.
Combining my lifelong passion for healthy eating with my love of helping others achieve their fitness goals, I became a Healthy Eating and Weight Loss Coach. By uniting mental, physical and spiritual wellness, I was able to attain optimal health and have finally found my balance. I want to help you achieve the same.
I know that you can accomplish anything you put your mind to, and nothing brings me greater joy than the moment that you realize it too. Together, we will establish clear goals and develop an action plan that delivers realistic and attainable results.
